Sep 09 : The Temple Tank cleaning processing in Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple was successfully renovated.
Cleanliness is next only to Godliness. We undertake street cleaning campaigns, preserve greenery in our locality by planting saplings, propagate the benefits of Rain Water Harvesting and involve ourselves in civic issues by interacting with the relevant Government departments to make our locality a better place to live in.
Rain Water Harvesting - A sustained campaign organised for Rain Water Harvesting (RWH). Syma members and residents of Triplicane implemented RWH system in their houses by our efforts even before Government's ordinance to make it compulsory.
15 Aug-06 : Tree planting programme in and around Triplicane Streets was organized and planted around 100 trees. M/s Grundfos Pvt Ltd sponsored Tree guards for all the tree's which is planted.
27 Oct 2005 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalitha makes a surprise visit to see the effect of Rain Water Harvesting in the Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank. Our members get an opportunity to inter-act with her for around five minutes. The Hon'ble CM expressed her happiness over SYMA's sustained efforts for Rain Water Harvesting.
19 May 2005 : In association with Sri Krishna Sweets, 27 saplings (relating to the 27 Astrological Stars) were planted in the Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank.
Mar 2005 : Due to persistent efforts of SYMA, Chennai Corporation took up the work of laying a storm water drain to carry the rain water from the Singrachary Street and Car Street to the Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank temple tank.
Sep 2004 : HR&CE hands over the maintenance of SriParthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank to SYMA.
Aug 2004 : Gardening, Water Triplication and fixing of Garden Lights at Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank with the help of UTI Bank.
Apr 2004 : `Street Gardening' in South Mada Street with the help of Sri Krishna Sweets.
20 Jul 2003 : A rally in coordination with Corporation of Chennai was organised to highlight the importance of Rain Water Harvesting.
Jul 2003 : Gardening of Temple Tank with the help of UTI Bank.
22 Jun 2003 : Sri Parthasarathyswamy Temple Tank Gardening at Temple Tank and Mada Streets.
21 Aug 2002 : Our Association also produced a short film on Rain Water Harvesting on a request from the Corporation of Chennai. The film was
released by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
21 Sep 2000 : A project to bring the rain water from T.P. Koil Street, South Mada Street and Peyalwar Koil Street to Sri Parthasarathyswamy Temple Tank was successfully completed.
04 Sep 1994 : Tree planting programme in and around Mada Streets was organised.
