15 Aug-09 : Our 62 nd Independence Day was celebrated at SYMA Medical Centre.  Sri. B.Ramalingam, Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai hoisted the flag and addressed the gathering. Patriotic songs were rendered by Soundarya Ratna Mala Isai Kuzhu.

26 Jan 09 : Republic Day was celebrated at our Medical Centre. The National Flag was hoisted by Sri. R.Subramanium, A.D.C. H.R. & C.E. Dept and addressed the gathering.

Every year the Association celebrates Republic Day and Independence Day by hoisting the National Flag. Events are conducted evoking patriotic fervour.

The Association regularly conducts various events to celebrate the birth anniversary of prominent freedom fighters and eminent personalities. These events are listed under appropriate sections.

15 Aug-08 : Independence Day was celebrated at SYMA Medical Centre. The National Flag was hoisted by  Smt. Leela Sekar (secretary –N. K. T. National Boys High School). Patriotic songs were rendered by Soundarya Ratna Mala Isai Kuzhu.

26 Jan 08 : Republic Day was celebrated at our Medical Centre. The National Flag was hoisted by D. C. of Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple, Sri. P. Jayaraman in the presence of Sri. Krishnan, President Tamil Sangam, Calicut , Sri Rajagopal of R R Construction also participated in this function.

: Independence Day Celebration, we in association with Sankara Eye Hospital , Pammal, Lions Club of Chennai Venus, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust and Sirvi Samaj Bhavan organized a free eye camp for detection of cataract. The camp was inaugurated by a great sportsperson T A Sekar. Around 140 people were screened, 15 persons ere identified for cataract surgery. They were taken to Pammal Sankara Eye Hospital and free surgery performed for removal of cataract. We also provided free eye glasses for 30 persons diagnosed in the camp.


26 Jan 07 : Republic Day Celebrations were held at SYMA Medical Centre. Mr. S. Venkatadri Principal N K T National Boys Higher Secondary School hoisted the National Flag. Patriotic songs were rendered by Soundarya Ratna Mala Isai Kuzhu.


15 Aug-06 : Independence Day was celebrated at SYMA Medical Centre. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr. Vasanthi, Principal – N K T National Teacher Training College

26 Jan 2006 : Republic Day Celebrations were held at SYMA Medical Centre. Mr. S.Parthasarathy hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Mr. P. Nagarajan, Councilor. Patriotic songs were rendered by Soundarya Ratna Mala Isai Kuzhu.

27 Oct 2005 : SYMA arranged to supply food to the victims of flood in Chennai. Around 2500 food packets were handed over to the Chennai Corporation.

15 Aug 2005 : Independence Day was celebrated at SYMA Medical Centre. The National Flag was hoisted by Mr. P.Dhanapal, Deputy Commissioner HR & CE.

26 Mar 2005 : As part of Tsunami Relief work 140 wooden desks were donated to the schools in the Poompuhar Area with the help of AL AHILA Insurance, OMAN .

15 Jan 2005 : SYMA in association with Confederation of All India Stenographers Association – Postal Employees Union provided relief materials worth around Rs. 2.50 Lakhs to the Tsunami affected areas of Nagappatinam.

Jan 2005: 1500 Pens, 250 Slates, 2000 Note-books and 180 Geometry Boxes were distributed to the schools in the Tsunami hit villages of Poompuhar.

01 Jan 2005 : A special prayer was organized in the Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple Tank for world peace and non-recurrence of natural disasters Hundreds of people thronged the temple tank and lighted lamps.

30 Dec 2004 : Our volunteers went to handover the relief materials worth around Rs. 1.50 Lakhs to the people in the Tsunami affected areas of Sirkazhi and Cuddalore. We also handed over the relief materials provided by Mangal Tirth Estates Ltd.

26 Dec 2004 : More than 20000 food packets were provided to the victims of Tsunami in Chennai. We also assisted the Chennai Corporation in the distribution of the food packets. Our members worked round the clock during these relief measures.

In times of national calamity, the Association collects clothes, money and other things from the public and sends it to the affected people. Street campaigns were undertaken to provide relief to the victims of 

    Floods in Tamilnadu. (December, 1977).
    Floods in Orissa. (14, Nov, 1999);
    Gujarat Earth Quake. (31, Jan, 2001)

03 Mar 2002 : A book titled `Kaliyuga Kothai' on Vai.Mu.Kothainayaki by Ms. Geetha Venkatakrishnan was released.

11 Dec 1998 : Bharatiyar Day was celebrated at Gangai Kondan Mandapam by honouring eminent personalities and outstanding students in our locality. Shri `Vikku' T.H. Vinayakram conducted Tala Vadya Vrinda with his students.

15 Aug 1998 : A rally was conducted in which more than 1000 students participated to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Indian Independence.

08 Dec 1991 : A procession and meeting was organised to celebrate Bharatiyar's 110th birth anniversary.

11 Aug 1991 : Three of our members went on an expedition to Bombay in three- wheeler to promote National Integration, World Peace and Child Welfare.

24 Feb 1991 : A peace run was organised from Bharatiar House to Gandhi Statue (Marina Beach).

07 Jul 1989 to 12 Aug 1989 : Six of our members went to New Delhi in TVS 50 to spread the message of National Integration, Family Planning & Polio Immunisation.
